Custom Node services · code-first
Low-code is the right tool until it isn't. Some workflows have branching logic that turns into a 60-node spaghetti diagram, or a transformation that's faster to write in 20 lines of TypeScript than to wire in a canvas. Some volumes break the free Power Automate plan inside a week.
When that's where you are, we write Node.js services. Same observability, same audit trail, same delivery cadence, just with the code you can read, version, and unit-test.
What's actually included.
Scheduled jobs
Cron-driven jobs for daily reconciliation, monthly invoicing, dunning, expiry checks, with retries, dedupe, and email alerts on failure.
Event-driven workers
Queue workers that respond to webhooks or DB changes, with idempotent processing and dead-letter handling for the messages that just won't process.
API orchestration
Chain multiple third-party APIs together with retry, timeout, and rollback. The place Power Automate gets brittle and code stays predictable.
Business logic in pure TS
Calculations, allocations, splits, rule engines, all written as testable pure functions, with unit tests that catch regressions before deploy.
Self-hosted
Deploys to Railway, AWS, your VPC, or any Docker host. No SaaS dependency you didn't approve. Logs and metrics in tools you already pay for.
MIT-licensed dependencies
We use the same handful of well-maintained, MIT-licensed libraries across projects. No surprise commercial licenses six months in.
Who this is for
Engineering teams who already have a code-first culture, or non-engineering teams whose automation needs have outgrown what low-code can handle: high message volume, complex transformations, multi-step API orchestration, or strict data residency requirements.
Three stages, no surprises.
Discovery
A 30-minute call to map the workflow that's actually broken. We walk you through what we'd build, what we wouldn't, and a written scope with timeline and milestones.
Weekly sprints
Working prototype by week 2, MVP in staging by week 4–6. Friday demo every week: you see it before it's done, not after. Slack channel + Linear / Jira board you have access to.
Handover + retainer
Go-live with a written playbook, training material per role, and a 30-day office-hours window. Most clients move onto a maintenance retainer for the work that comes after.

We'll come back with a plan.
A 30-minute discovery call, free, no deck. We map your workflow, flag what's worth fixing first, and outline a scope with timeline and effort.
